Short-Term Running Goals:

I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Today was actually a really great race for me. I had been told this course wasn't a great one but I really liked it. It definately was tough. It had about 5 miles on a gravel road and quite a bit of up hill but also had lots of down. The temp was perfect and I felt good. I really didn't have any expectations for myself today. I haven't worked on speed since SG Marathon and I was really just running this to complete 1 of my 2 Washington County races for the runners series but I felt great and decided to race it.

Mile 1-6:47 Steep downhill

2-6:58 Still down

3-7:29

4-8:18 Uphill on gravel trail

This was a fun day. Angela took 8th overal (women), Kris was first in her age group. We had a great time. Thanks friends:)

Excellent race. Your splits are very consistent so you must have run a very smart race.

Michelle,

You did so AWESOME!!! You looked so strong there those last few miles ... I was so jealous!! Andy is so right ... you ran a very smart race and looked like you were having a great time while you were at it.

A huge congrats!!

Congratulations! That is an awesome time! Sounds like you have not lost any speed!

Thanks to all!

GREAT JOB!!! Those splits are amazingly fast. What are you talking about not having speed??? You obviously have not lost a thing. AWESOME run!!

Great job on your race Michelle! Looks like some pretty consistent splits.

Which other runner series race are you planning on?

From peggy on Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 14:02:17

Those mile splits are impressive, Michelle. Great job! Wish I could have been there :(

Thanks Kelli! We missed you down there. It was a fun race.

Cal-I think we are all planning on Painters. A bunch of us are doing Boston so I don't want to do Spectrum that close. My hubby might flip out if I left 2 times that close together. Did you sign up for the series?

From Michelle N. on Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 14:11:36

Oh, and thanks Peggy! We missed you. You would've won probably.
