Short-Term Running Goals:

I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Did an awesome run with Julie and Kris down Big Cottonwood. Started 12 miles up (AP for the Canyon 7:56 which felt pretty darned good). Headed down to Holladay Blvd., to Haven Ln., Cottonwood Ln, Walker Ln. to Highland Dr. and down 5600 S to Cottonwood High. There was still some downhill coming out of the canyon for the final 6, but definitely a lot flatter. Figured this would determine a bit how the marathon is going to feel. We still will have 5 miles of pretty steep downhill out of the canyon and 3 more out, but we didn't slow too much once we hit the bottom and the legs felt okay. I'd like to do a 20 and add maybe 1 more canyon mile and one more flat. AP for the whole thing 8:07.

I turned my left ankle 2 times on the small shoulder and my right once. I was pretty sore the next day, but nothing unbearable...however, my right ankle is pretty sore. That is the one I broke last year and those darned tendons just ache.

Still up in the air about a pace for this marathon. Obviously the pace was pretty quick, but we have a lot more mileage to go and I haven't been doing speed work (other than just running some faster miles here and there). Who knows??? I think I should be able to do 3:30 or faster???
