Had crappy run yesterday and really didn't want to run today so I went to the gym thinking I'd do a cycle class. Got there and they had changed the time for the Holiday so I missed it. So, I did shoulders/tris/abs and jumped on the treadmill and did 5 nice, relaxed miles at a 9:13 pace. Wanted to do more but I had to get down to pick-up the kids from the childcare center. I am not at all sore from the 20 yesterday so I am thinking the wind was to blame for the bad run. Maybe the fact that I ate a hamburger and a hotdog the night before didn't help either. I typically eat pizza the night before long runs and races. I guess that is what works for me.

AHHH!!! Pizza, that is what I had before my long run, too. I think it works better than pasta. But, I still think your long run was good, not crappy! Do not be so hard on yourself! According to all of the little training calculators out there, based on your Hobblecreek time, your long runs should be between 8:10 and 9:10---so you are doing fabulous!

I think we did pretty good considering the wind. I'm so glad you are not sore.

Your 20 miler sounds awesome--you guys had a great average! Also, to run AT ALL the day after a long run is awesome--you and Julie are animals!

Thanks everyone. Cheris-I felt like an animal yesterday. One that had been hit by a car off the side of the road:)
