I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

I went to the Jazz game last night and didn't get home until 10:45 so I thought I'd be really tired today but I feel great BUT I took a friend with me to meet the BBK's and I really didn't know what kind of runner she was. We started out the first mile around 9:00 pace and she seemed okay but a couple of minutes into the second mile she told me she needed to walk a little and I didn't want to leave her in the dark so I walked with her. After that it was walk run for the next 2 miles. We got a total of 3.64 miles in and it took 48 minutes. That was really slow but oh well.

I got home and ran another 2.10 around my neighborood 8:45 average.  I have to teach my class at 9:00 so I'll get a little more workout in for the day:)

Just got back from teaching my class. I worked everyone really hard and felt better about my efforts for the day:)

I am so sorry! It is so hard when you cannot get the work out you want. I feel the same way though when I come meet you guys. If I am driving that far, I want a quality work out to make it worth the effort.

Too bad about the run. I've found that people who are significantly slower than the group don't last long. They might come a few times, but they eventually realize it's not the group for them.

She actually called me and said that she felt like she better work on her base before she runs with me. Whew! I'm relieved, I hate to be rude.

I wondered where you were, I needed your protection in case the horse cam back!

We all hear you, it is tough to run slow when you want to run fast!

I hope your friend doesn't check out the blog...

That was nice of you to stick it out with her though!

From Michelle N. on Thu, Oct 30, 2008 at 15:16:43

I hope she doesn't check it out too. She doesn't know I even do this though. I probably sound really rude about it but I don't mean to. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my days to work hard so it really sucks when I can't.

Kelli-You guys made me laugh when that horse was in the way. I guess living in Bluffdale and my family has horses, makes me not afraid. Although, I didn't always feel that way:)

Thanks a lot. :(

OK, that last post was from me, not your friend. Hope things work out for her. At least you took it out on your class.

That was a good one!

From Michelle N. on Thu, Oct 30, 2008 at 16:25:59

You are funny Paul.

From walter on Sat, Nov 01, 2008 at 11:58:21

Michelle, the best thing you can do was to stay with your friend. Keep encouraging her to come out and she'll gradually get to where she can run non stop. Hope all is well and ill see you soon.
