I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

It was so nice to not have to get up in the 4o'clock hour on a Saturday:) Woke up at 6:30 and met Angela down at the trail. My plan was to run around 8:30-8:45 pace for most of the run with a few marathon pace miles thrown in but we did the whole run 8:20 average. Half of the miles were  slower and the other half were around marathon pace even with a strong headwind the last 5 miles. I felt really great today and we were able to talk the whole time. I wonder if that is a sign that I should be running faster if I can keep up conversation at marathon pace.

Great run today! Sleeping in is soooo nice. That is an awesome avg for 10 miles.

Isn't it strange that we think waking up at 6:30 on Saturday to run 10 miles is sleeping in? I'm the same way. It looks like you are in great shape for the marathon.

Thanks Jody.

Andy-I think we are all a little cuckoo. My husband is still asleep right now. How nice for him. I hope the marathon goes well, you just never know what the day will bring but I sure feel ready. I hope you keep recovering well and feel up to par. Good luck.

I slept in until 8:00. Ha.

From Kelli on Sat, Sep 27, 2008 at 17:16:42

I think that is a definite indication that you can run faster!!! If you have any breath left, RUN!

No, really, I think some people can just talk while they run and others can not. It does not matter how slow I go, i still puff and pant if i try to talk to much.

BUT, I bet you could easily avg 8 in a marathon this year.
