I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Yesterday was my 14th anniversary. Whoa! Where did 14 years go?

Went to the gym this morning (kind of late-got there at 9:30). I did shoulders/biceps/abs followed by 5 miles on the treadmill at 8:49 pace. I noticed my heart rate climb a little higher than normal today. Probably the fact that I haven't done a whole lot the past 2 weeks. I know that is the reason for the increasingly larger butt:) Oh, and the fact that I have eaten like CRAP for the past 3-4 weeks. Today was a new start and I am determined to drop 5-8 pounds. So far so good. If I blog it, I have to do it, right?

Aside from the crappy eating and the heart rate, I did feel really good today. The run felt quite easy and I wanted to go more but time was not on my side.

From Michelle N. on Mon, Oct 13, 2008 at 15:37:02

I hear ya. I have slept in every day since the marathon. Tomorrow is really going to suck having to get up at 5:30 to meet the BBK's. Are you coming?

From walter on Mon, Oct 13, 2008 at 15:59:32

Yes, ill make it a good effort.

From Jody on Mon, Oct 13, 2008 at 17:21:39

Great job today! The sleeping in has been so nice, but I feel so lazy! Can't wait to see you tomorrow!

From Jody on Mon, Oct 13, 2008 at 17:21:57

Oh Ya - Congrats on 14 yrs - that is awesome!

From Michelle N. on Mon, Oct 13, 2008 at 17:32:14

Thanks Jody. The sleeping in has been the death of me. I love to sleep but I really kind of feel cruddy. I have slept way too much. Time to get back in gear.

It is going to be hard to get up early again. BUT we are only going to get up early for you guys. Then, we are going to run at night or on the treadmill during the day. That is our compromise---I am not an early riser!

Okay, I will race you to lose 6 pounds. (You will win, but competition is always good!)

What happened to the edit button that was hear yesterday???

HAPPY belated ANNIVERSARY!! That is a LONG time.

From Michelle N. on Mon, Oct 13, 2008 at 18:37:15

What edit button are you talking about Kelli? I'm confused. BTW you will kick by behind in weight loss. These last few pounds have been a buggar to get off. I'd be happy with my weight if my butt was smaller:)

From Kelli on Mon, Oct 13, 2008 at 18:45:41

We could edit our own comments yesterday. It was nice---I could fix my booboos!

I have been trying to lose 6 pounds forever---so we will see. Game on, right? My weight is fine, too, but I keep thinking if I just lose these last 6 it will finally come from my belly!

From walter on Tue, Oct 14, 2008 at 09:29:55

Hey, do you know how far we ran this morning?

From Kelli on Tue, Oct 14, 2008 at 09:32:38

Do not rub it in. I do not want to know!! I have to keep up with you guys on the darn treadmill, so do not tell me before I go to the gym!!!

From Michelle N. on Tue, Oct 14, 2008 at 09:41:27

I got 6.2 on the garmin.

From walter on Tue, Oct 14, 2008 at 20:52:56

An even 10k! Sweet. It felt like 10-12 though. My hip hurt a bit and my legs were heavy. Thanks for being my Garmin for the morning!
