Short-Term Running Goals:

I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Well, I went to bed last night a little tired but woke up very refreshed this morning. I am glad I am taking the day off. My back is still hurting a little but nothing major so I'm hoping that some rest today will really help it and I will be ready to go tomorrow.

Way to rest. I hope your back cooperates.

Best of luck to you tomorrow! You will kill your old PR for sure. I am thinking you will beat your goal---do, cause then you will beat my husband! You can say you "beat" a cop.

From walter on Fri, Aug 22, 2008 at 16:47:42

Oh man after all those speeding tickets and failure to yields I wanna beat a cop! Not fair. Maybe SGM!? you can make a shirt up that says I beat a cop at SGM! If he beats me then Ill have to make one that says this cop beat little skinny smart***!

lol

I think you'll be okay on that one, Walter! Remember, all of those big muscles he has cramp up in marathons and he has to crawl across the finish line. Even I can beat a cop in a marathon, and that is saying something!

Yeah, I need to help him with that. I have a book that he can read about proper nutrition when training for a marathon and other events. Its all about balancing your sodium and carbos and protein together.
