I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Met up with the BBK's this morning at 5:45. Ran through Parkway Palisades towards Riverton and back. Did some hill repeats (ugh!) and there were other hills also. I felt kind of crappy today. Hopefully some consistancy will cure that. Overall pace was kind of slow 9:07. Oh well, I'm building my base, right?

Oh, we had 2 owies this morning. Cheryl fell hard with about 1 mile to go and Peggy fell at the very end. My heart can't handle these falls and it isn't even me.

I dont think you guys should be doing hill repeats in this crap. ugg! Oh my gosh Ill have to go check Cheryls and Peggys blog. good run shell! Keep it up, it doesnt matter how slow your running, it only matters that your running. (Walters words of wisdom on tuesday) lol

I am so glad you were there today. It will get better, I promise. I am surpised that the pace was that slow, but maybe it was the hill repeats that caused that.

Thanks Jody!

Walter, you are funny. My brothers and husband call me Shell. It's funny to hear (or read) someone else call me that. Oh, and the hill repeats weren't my idea. I would've preferred lying in bed:)

How did you feel today...?

From Michelle N. on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:40:01

Okay, not sick anyway but tired and out of breath. I noticed you did some biking today. Nice work.

From Burt on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:49:27

I think there was a different word you used to describe how you felt... couldn't resist. I'm so juvenile.

Today was the first time I rode my bike in forever. It's just so cold and the days are not as long. But I put in 10 hours at work yesterday, so I figured I could take off early today while there is still daylight.

It was fun to see you again. The holidays are almost over, and then we'll all get serious again and it will feel really good (yeah, right!).

From Cheryl on Wed, Dec 31, 2008 at 00:17:58

My fall must have gotten your heart rate really high, so that was good for the workout, right? Sorry about those hill repeats, somebody needs to shut me up when I suggest that. But you're glad you did them afterwards, right?
