Short-Term Running Goals:

I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Up at Snowbird for a fun weekend getaway. Sore, but not unbearable. Did lots of walking around with the kiddies.

Still up at Snowbird this morning and trying to get ready and out! Thought I might try to run a few miles this evening, but nope...ankles still kind of sore from all the fun downhill. Back to the grind tomorrow!

OMG! I didn't realize how tight the outside of my shins were. I "tried" to run this morning, but did not succeed. I made it to almost a mile (with several stops to try and relax or stretch my shins), but figured it was not happening. I turned around and got another 1/4 mile in and just could not, nor did I want to do any more. Soooo, I walked back to work and did a few laps of walking around the parking lot. I probably walked around 1 1/2 miles total.

I went into the gym and did a few pushups and sit ups and called it quits!

Later at home I got out my rolling pin and some Aspercream and rolled away. OUCH! Seriously, those muscles are so tight and there are spots that are just downright painful!

I was a bit worried about how bad my legs would hurt this morning so I prepared! Lathered em up with Aspercream and took some Ibuprofen:) Did the exact same run as last Wednesday. Out 3.7 to the restroom on the JRP and back. My right leg was still a bit tight, but not unbearable. By the turn around point, it had relaxed pretty good and I was able to speed up a little with no more effort. Overall, a nice, easy, enjoyable run. AP 9:15ish

Very hot and muggy this morning. Ran from work to the trail. Saw Shayne and ran a little with him and then helped pace an officer reactivation. He was SLOW and I really thought he was going to have a heart attack! My AP was nice and easy AGAIN 8:58. The mile I ran with the officer was around 9:20ish. I really hope my legs remember how to run fast.

Ran to work this morning. I took the longer route on the JRP so I could get a little more mileage. It definitely is a good workout to run to work because I have to be here at a certain time so it forces me to run faster. All in all I felt good. First 3 miles were a little slower...funny because they are all downhill, but the rest was pretty flat (except the last 1.5). AP 8:45
