Once again, let me try this. Life has been sooo busy but I've decided I need to get back in shape for sanity:)

Very windy but I decided not to worry about anything other than just running...even if I was running extremely slow into the wind.

Got home and did some lunges, calf raises and abs.

And that's all folks.

No, nothing planned, how about you? I just want to learn to love running again and not feel like it is an obligation and by not being forced to train for something, hopefully that will happen.

That's the carrot that i need to be dedicated and actually run.

20 pullups? Impressive! Once you find the love of running again, let me know how to get there.

Let me tell you though Andy, they were assisted pull-ups with the back of a chair. I couldn't pull my fat butt up once:)

And if I figure out how to love running again, I will let you know. I have been reading back through my blogs and am kind of excited to get back at it. This whole blogging thing is good.

Went down to the JRP with my dog this morning. I felt good considering how pooped I was yesterday. The wind was blowing from the north so it was nice to finish with the wind for once:) My pup is a great running partner...no pressure to run faster, keeps my mind occupied, and she won't flake on me:)

Got home and did some shoulders, biceps, triceps.

Woke up early again and my 15 year old wanted to get up and go as well and so did the dog. Definitely easier to run with the dog alone and on the trail. She is scared of cars and made it a pain. I was tired and sore this morning but felt alright but my kid kicked my can.

Not enough time to do any weights before I had to get kids ready for school and out the door for work. Maybe tonight if I''m not completely beat.

Trying hard to just be smart and run smart. Or in my case, SLOW jog:)

Easy MilesMarathon Pace MilesThreshold MilesVO2 Max MilesTotal Distance
3.000.000.000.003.00

The past while (probably 4 1/2 years if accurate) I have had feelings and anger build up about a lot of things in my life which in return has made me quite negative about A LOT of things in my life. I decided while out on my SLOW run today that I need to look for the positve and things I am blessed with rather than focusing on the negative crap. I cannot control how other people act, feel, treat me or others, etc. and the only person these feelings effect and hurt,  is me. I used to be so nice and sweet and I need to find a way back to being that person.

So, let me start today...I set my alarm for 7:30 because I didn't have any reason to be up any earlier and guess what, I woke up at 6:30 and felt refreshed and ready to go (although I still layed there until 7:25). Did the same 3 mile Bluffdale Loop that I have done 3 other days this week. It was such a beautiful morning and I was happy to just be out and going. Nothing on my body hurt, which makes me grateful for my health. When I got to the uphill 1.2 miles on the way back, I focused on how light the breeze was this morning and pretended it was flat (which couldn't fool my heart rate:). All in all a fantastic morning and I am so looking forward to a long weekend!

Well no excuses why I didn't run Saturday or yesterday...just crappy weather and enjoyed being lazy.

Slept in this morning with my hubby and got up and headed to the JRP trail. Ran to the top of the big hill and back. No garmin but I think it is a little over 3. I felt awesome and sure it was because I took a couple of days off. I really am excited about running right now and hope that it will continue.

So, I practiced my positive thinking this weekend...my first great-neice was born Friday evening and my brother didn't call me or anything (heard through my mom) and I found myself irritated about it. I decided that it wasn't that big of a deal and they were probably just busy and enjoying the baby and sure enough, my sis-in-law text me Saturday morning with a picture. Glad I didn't get upset about it.

What a nice morning. Got up early and my son was going to run with me, but wasn't down here when I told him I needed to be out the door so...by myself (which isn't a bad thing right now). I ran my 3 mile Bluffdale loop and felt fantastic!!! I struggled a tiny bit on the last little bit of uphill but really concentrated on holding good form and not only did that help with how my legs felt but with dread of the hill as well. I was thinking I would add on a 1/4-1/2 mile per day but I think I am going to wait until next week. Really want to be smart about increase in mileage...especially since I am not training for anything, no need to get up in the high mileage range right now. Building a nice base that I am comfortable with, helps me lose weight, etc. sounds great right now. Maybe along the way I will get faster and want to run some sort of race. For now, I will be the tortoise:)

Did some legs and abs when I got home.

Had planned on getting up early to run before getting kids off to school because my daughter had an orthodonist appt. at 9:00 but could not fall asleep last night:( Rather than drag butt all day, I decided to go when I got back at 9:45. It wasn't too hot yet so it was nice. I decided to do an out run and not run back (had my daughter pick me up), to save myself from the mile long hill at the end. It was sooooo nice. I still had 3/4 mile uphill but it was in the middle rather than the end.

Got home and layed on the trampoline for an hour (in my bathing suit...love me a suntan:) with my daughter and looked at her yearbook. Ahhh, the simple joys in life:)

Left at 7:00 instead and was seriously dragging, but got into a rhythm and felt okay. Did the same Bluffdale loop. Looking forward to adding some mileage next week so I can run a little different route. Lost that extra 1/2 hour though so I didn't have time for any weights after. I will try this lovely evening.

Another fun filled 3 miles. I mixed things up a little today. Ran out 3200 W and back rather than down to 2700. 3200 seems to be a little less steep and it breaks the hills up. I definitely felt a lot bettter doing it that way. So, the past 3 days I have gotten stopped 1/2 mile in to my runs by neighbors and my brother. My positive attitude has made me more friendly dangit:)

Came home and did 20 (chair assisted) pull-ups, 30 (girl) push-ups, and 100 (MANLY) crunches.

First day I ran with my IPOD and I definitely think it helps me. No Garmin yet though...don't want to get too depressed when I see how slow I am:)

My home computer is out of order and my phone will only let me put in miles so I am having to wait until I come to work to blog until the computer is fixed or replaced.

Anyways, I didn't get to start until 11:00 today and it was already 85 degrees...ugh...I really feel for people in SG and Arizona at these times. I ran down to the trail and actually felt awesome. Jared met me down there with our son and we went out another mile and back. I had to wait 10 minutes for Jared to get there and the drinking fountain wasn't working so I sat in the heat, dehydrating and when I started back up, I felt like I could die...I averaged 9:30 miles for the first 3 and felt great and then slowed a ton on the last 2. My pace doesn't matter at all to me right now, just thought I would see where I was at by wearing the Garmin.

I didn't plan on 4 but it was soooo windy that I did an out route along 3600 and down by NorthStar Academy and back to Bluffdale Elementary and had my daughter meet me there to pick up the Kindergartener. Again, I started at 11:00 and I think it was at least 90 degrees. Yikes. Felt good all in all though.

Later in the evening, I started with a sharp pain in between in 2nd and 3rd toes on my right foot. I'm thinking it could be from the hard soled flip flops I've been wearing or from running. Will see how it feels in the morning.

Went a little later in the morning cuz I could and temps were PERFECT! Did out to 14400 S. and 3600 W. and back. I really like this because it breaks up the hills. Typically, I end up running most of the uphill on my way back but this way, I get breaks in between. Anywho, I wore the Garmin but didn't look at it until the end and actually averaged a 9:43 pace very comfortably. YAY...way better than I thought I would feel at this point!

I am kind of having running highs this week. I can't believe I have taken so much time off. I've forgotten how great I feel during and after my runs. SO theraputic! At this point, I am having to hold myself back from doing more miles for fear that I will hurt myself. Probably smart but I really do want to run further. Welll, wasn't I a slacker this weekend:P I was seriously so tired when I got home from work on Friday night...I fell asleep without my teenagers home, 3 additional teenagers sleeping over and making a ton of noise, and the lights in the house on. Thank goodness for Jared staying up and taking care of everything. I woke up Saturday and still was exhausted. I decided to sleep in and try to get out Sunday morning. Welp, that didn't happen dangit!

So, here it is...slept in a little this beautiful morning and got up and headed out. There ya go, that's about it:) This was the mileage I intended to to Friday or Saturday and since that didn't happen, I did today instead but back to 4-4 1/2 tomorrow.  My IPOD hasn't been working so I've been borrowing Jared's and my kids. The only one available this morning was my little cute 10 year olds...full of Justin Beiber and other Teeny Bopper crap, ugh. I finally turned it off around mile 5 because I was going crazy. I'm kind of a rocker.

Today felt really good and comfortable. I wasn't breathing heavy, the body felt good, heart was steady and strong. All in all felt fantastic...UNTIL, the dreaded mile in the wind, uphill back towards home. I slowed a ton and was ready to be done. My quads started to ache a little too. I guess ultimately, this stinking uphill will only make me stronger but seriously, every day? Well, off to the pool with the kidders.

So, I couldn't get out in the AM because my boy had to be to football stuff at the high school early and I had to get to work. I had a football board meeting at CR Hamilton @ 7:30 so I decided I would run to and from the meeting. Little more mileage than I should've done but I figured it was split in 2 and should be ok.

The first part has about 3/4 mile of uphill and the rest is flat or down and I averaged a very comfy 9:30 solid. On the way back all but 3/4 is uphill and I felt AWESOME! I averaged 9:27 on that part and it felt effortless:) YAY! Sometimes I think I run better at night...depends on the night though.

I hope to get in 4 miles at some point today but I don't know. I was SOOOO tired when I woke up this morning. I had a really busy day yesterday and worked out in my yard and garden until after 9. We are getting ready to go to Lake Powell on Thursday and the prep work is a killer with 5 kids. I am going to do 10 miles tomorrow so I just might not get out at all today.

On a side note...my brother is supposed to be doing the Coeur d'Alene Iron Man this week and biffed it pretty bad in Powell last weekend and has muscles bruised, etc. around his ribcage.  Uhh, let's hope for the best:S

Bruised ribs don't bode well for swimming. Lake Powell, eh? See you there.

Or running or biking for that matter:) Are you really going to Powell? We are going to Wahweep.

Well, it's in AZ, so it can't be too far away from me. I'll make a special trip just to see you. JK.

Awesome! I will tell you what, I will run on the TM in the hotel on Friday morning and that is it! No running on the rocks in 105 degrees once we are on the houseboat! I seriously don't know how you do it...I am more of a 60 degree gal:)

Well, the reason for no posts the past almost 2 weeks...I sprained my right ankle/achilles wakeboarding in Lake Powell:( I was feeling so dang good dangit! I keep thinking it is feeling good and then it starts killing by the end of the day and I wake up in the morning in pain. If it is not feeling significantly better by Thursday, I think I may contact the doc:( I haven't gone to the doc cuz I just figure it'll take time but it feels so tight and sore along my achilles. Ahhh, such is life, right?

Thought the ankle would be feeling decent enough to try running this morning but no...woke up with a lot of pain back around the achilles. I will give it another few days and then maybe I ought to go see a doctor:(

Well, the ankle/achilles started feeling pretty good the end of last week so I decided to give it a few more days and start today and see how things felt.

My 15 year old had to be to Riverton High for his first day of HS football (SOO EXCITED, I LOVE FOOTBALL), anyway, I decided to run on the track so if the foot hurt, I could be done if bad enough. It felt fine the first mile but he 2nd it started to ache a little bit and then my left calf tightened (probably from compensation) but by the end, everything loosened up and started to feel a ton better...I'm sure it will hurt later.

It felt fantastic to be back out again!

I did 6 sets of lunges up the bleachers, 2 sets of jump squats, 3 sets of calf raises, stretched good and that's it:) Have a nice day:)

And all the high school boys were like, "Check out the new girl! I'm taking her to homecoming."

Ha ha Burt...I've been my boys team mom for the part 4 years so they all know me as Braydon's mom...although that may not stop some;)

So, went to the track again this morning and had taken a couple Ibuprofen before hand because the ankle was a little sore yesterday and this morning but I figured it was just cuz I hadn't run in a few weeks and it was wiggling things around. First lap I felt a sharp pain right in front of my ankle and considered stopping but thought I'd give it a little bit since I was up and there. By the 2nd-3rd lap, it started mellowing out. I thought that it had loosened up and the IB had started helping. Ran comfortable and felt really good but when I finished up, the ankle REALLY started aching:( I have put it off long enough so decided I would stop at InstaCare on my way home. Whelp...I have a pretty good chunk of bone broken off of my ankle. The doc said it has started healing pretty decently but said it needs another 3 weeks or so before I start running or anything else:( Just my luck dangit!!! I'm trying to see positive in this but...is there anything positive about a broken bone? Oh well, such is life...I guess I will have to sit on my can and heal up.

Well, here's a positive; if a broken bone doesn't heal properly, it can cause an infection that will kill you. So, yeah, good thing you caught it.
