I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

AM-Taught first class at gym today. Total body w/weights and cardio. I want to try and get 6 miles in at some point today so I'll have to see how I feel.

Later AM-Went to the gym and ran 6 miles. First 5 around 9:20 pace, last mile did some decline at mostly 8:00 pace. Cooled down for 1/4. Felt decent but could feel the hamstring and top of calf muscle.

Deep down I think he is really scared I could kick his butt, but ya know for the show I try to maintain, jk sorry If I am posting this wrong I don't really know how this works I don't get on it much and play around

Does your class give you the respect you deserve?

From Michelle N. on Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 16:30:17

Burt-You are funny, today was the first day and it being a holiday, there were only 2 ladies there. Talk about easing into things:)

From Michelle N. on Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 17:17:20

Misty-I got ya. You can just post the same place the comment was made and it will show up right after the previous comment but I figured it out:) And I think he is totally scared.

Good job Michelle. Running on the treadmill is fun huh. Does your hamstring pain ease after you warm up?

From Michelle N. on Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 19:06:23

No, not really. I'm sure I've got a strain or tear or something. I kind of took it easy last week but I don't know. It isn't really too painful but I am nervous about it getting worse. I had the same issue last year and ran SL Marathon on it and ended up in major pain for 6 weeks after. I'm paying attention to it but I don't know what to do about it, other than decrease speed and ice.

I wondered if there would be anyone there that early on a holiday!! Sorry I missed it, the alarm went off and my stomach said NO WAY!!! I think If I had just gotten out of bed I would have been okay, but the will was not there after yesterday!!!

So, did it all go well???

From Burt on Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 21:38:55

No respect, Kelli.

From Kelli on Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 21:43:52

I know, I feel bad about it. I do. I promised her I would be there on her first day. What kind of a friend am I???

From Michelle N. on Tue, Feb 17, 2009 at 11:12:07

Now Kelli, if the class would've been packed and you wouldn't have been there, I would have been sad but I wasn't too intimidated by the whopping 2 women.
