Early AM-Taught step class. Leg is hurting dangit! Only did 1 riser and had a hard time concentrating and cueing. Aaahhh! I have to teach step again at 6:00 tonight. I will see how it goes. I think I might take tomorrow off.

Afternoon-Went to the Chiropractor again. Felt good.

PM-Taught another step class. I felt good so I decided to push. I did 2 risers. We did intervals between combos. Leg hurt a little but really felt quite a bit better. I will give myself 6 miles for it. I also did some abs and a little back and biceps.

I am going to go in the morning but try and just keep it flat and comfortable.

Met the BBK's early and started to warm up. My lower shin is KILLING me and my running form was so altered that everything else started hurting again. I'm really wondering now if it is a stess fracture. Ughhh!!! Anyway, I stopped and walked back to my car. It was quite a painful walk.

Well, I just got back from the chiro and i hopefully have a diagnosis. Yesterday he pushed along my inner part of my shin bone and the connective tissue  and it was a little painful but not terrible so he thought it was either inflamation of the tissue there or a possible stress fracture. I went and taught may step class last night and did lots of jumping and moved a lot faster. Woke up this morning and it was hurting pretty bad but when i started running it killed so I adjusted my form and I think it started making my IT, low back, and the outside of my lower leg hurt. Anyway, today when he pushed on the same area, I about went through the roof but the area seemed to have actually gotten bigger. Well, he thinks it could be a bad shin splint. I've only had shin splints on the outside of my lower leg, not the inside. My thought is that my new shoes (Asic Cumulus) are enough different from the Nimbus that I am pushing more off my toe and that is what has caused it. Bummer, I thought I liked the Cumulus. I guess I have to stick with the more expensive Nimbus. In the mean time, I guess I will ice it and take it easy and hope for the best. He thinks I should be fine for Boston but you never know.  So, shin splints....Yuck, I will never belittle the thought of shin splints again.

Taught sculpting class at gym. I lucked out and asked the women if they preferred I do step but they all were game with sculpt. So, no jumping around for me today. YAY! Leg is feeling a bit better but I am going to not to anymore today or tomorrow and I will see about a longer run on Sunday.

Taught total body class this morning. It is hard to not participate. I am going to call Dr. Toronto today and see if there is any chance at all they can get me in SOON. I don't quite know what to think of my leg. I still am wondering if it could be a stress fracture. It doesn't seem to feel any better and I really can pin point 1 spot that hurts on the edge of the bone and down under the bone in the tissue. I guess I will see.

Well, I was lucky and got into see Dr. Toronto this morning. I am SO glad. I have some tendon issues that connects to my tibia and it is late stage 2 of 3 phases. 1st phase is pain and inflammation, 2nd phase is same as 1 but also starts weakening the bone enamel where it connects, and 3rd is a stress fracture. He said he could see some darkness on the xray so it has broken down the enamel of the bone but hasn't caused a fracture YET. He put me on Prednisone  and said we won't be able to tell anything until Friday. He said if it is improving then Boston still might be a go but if it is still hurting significantly...well, no Boston. In the meantime, no running or step or plyometrics. Cycling, elliptical, swimming. That's it. I hope for the best but it is what it is and I can't change it so.....again, we will see. Oh, and cause is for sure the shoes. He said that is why I had the pain first in my knees and back. Man, I wish I could have figured that out 2 weeks ago!

I'm going to blog my progress. I woke up feeling pretty darn good but then after walking around for a bit it starts to ache. That is progress though because it usually aches right when I get up. I'm going to a cycling class and I will see how that goes. I will report later.

I'm counting my 1 hour of cycle class as 6 miles. It felt really good to get my legs moving and get my heart rate up.

I'm feeling pretty good this morning. Right now, there is very little pain. He told me to try jumping on one foot this afternoon and see how it felt compared to Monday. I think I will wait until way later this evening and see. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to a cycle class or just relax again today. I will report later if I decided to head out. 3 of my 5 kids are sick so I'm a little nervous about me getting sick.

Went to cycle class. It felt AWESOME! My leg didn't hurt and it felt so good to get my legs moving. I'll count 6 miles for the hour. I am feeling a little more hopeful today on my leg healing in time:)

Taught weight class this morning. I had a really good turnout. I didn't participate in the lower body part of things again. I am going to head over to cycle class at 9:00. My leg is aching a little more today than yesterday but I also massaged it really good last night. It isn't the sharp pain that I felt earlier in the week, it is more of an achy feeling so that is probably a good thing.

Went to cycle and only stayed for 30 minutes because I started to feel my leg. Feels okay now.

My leg feels really good today. I went to meet with this guy that I know and he worked on some of my trigger points in my right leg and things feel pretty darn good. I really think I am going to be alright for Boston:)

Taught total body class this morning. Not much participating from me:) My leg is feeling pretty good but I feel a little tugging when I use it. I probably am just oversensitive to it right now. I'm going to have Angela do a little ultrasound on it this morning and then head to the gym to do some bike or eliptical.

40 minutes cycling and 20 minutes elliptical. Leg felt good. A little tugging feeling but no pain. I'm not sure if that is just stiffness or what.

Well, the leg felt great. We got to the starting area a little late because our bus driver got lost and led 4 others astray. So, we got in line for the potty and as soon as we were done, headed to the corrals. We were going to start in Deans corral (16) but we didn't make it up that far so we started in 21.

Splits

1-9:29 Nice and slow

13-8:30 Was really amazed that we were already half way through.

14-8:43

15-8:22 3rd GU and I also took an electrolyte pill because my quads started cramping.

16-8:25 First major hill. I flew up it feeling really great. I turned to Jody and told her how glad I was to have some uphill. My quads were really feeling the down.

24-9:17

 25-9:15

26-9:20

.2 ( I clocked .41)-3:42 (9:02 pace)

I will begin by saying that I am 100% happy with my time. It was so much fun and the most awesome experience. I want to go back next year for sure. Now, let me explain my slowing. I'm pretty sure that because of all the water gain from the prednisone, that my body started flushing it all out beginning Wednesday of last week. I think that it flushed a lot of electrolytes out with it because I have never experienced cramping like this. Cardio wise I felt fantastic but my legs gave out. I'm sure it didn't help that I didn't run for 3 weeks prior either. No excuses though. Although, a learning experience again. I feel great now other than some soreness. Okay major soreness. I could hardly move on Tuesday but feel a ton better today (Wed).

Ran 3 slow, easy miles with my brother. The first 1/2 mile felt very awkward and I felt every aching muscle but felt pretty decent the rest of the time. My main ouchy complaint is my 2nd toenail on each foot. There are blisters under both of them so my shoes kind of hurt. Glad I ran though to loosen up the bod:)

Taught Total Body class. My leg is bugging me a bit again. I'm going to try and run at the gym but if it is bugging me, I think I'll do bike or elliptical or stair climber.

Later AM-Rode the upright bike at a moderate pace for 60 minutes (18 miles=6 miles running). Tried to run on treadmill but my leg is hurting again. I think I am going to play it smart and bag Ogden and cross train for the next 2-4 weeks and see what happens.
