Short-Term Running Goals:

I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Met the BBK's at Parkway Palisades today at 5:15 for the extra miles. I don't know if any of the miles were actually easy today. We did my favorite workout (not), HILLS! I am sore already and very tired. Peggy, you are an animal!!! I really felt pretty good until the last 2 hills and I really started to fade but pushed through. My throat burns a little from the inversion junk. I guess it's like smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day to run in the junk so I don't know if I'm doing good or harm by running but oh well, hopefully it clears out soon.

On another note, I got a call from a gym yesterday and they want me to come teach group fitness 3 mornings a week. I'm excited but kind of nervous. Also, my parents are coming home from their mission today! They've been gone for 18 months and I can't wait to see them.

How exciting to have your parents home! Where did they serve? Congrats on the teaching :) I love teaching... no matter what it is :) Great workout! I think on friday the smog is going to get rained out! Yay for the rain!!!

It was great to see you even if it was just for a minute. You did great!

Enjoy your day with your parents - very exciting!

Marion-They served the first 9 months in Democratic Republic of Congo (very scary) but got transferred to Johanesburg South Africa and spent the last 9 months there. I am the only girl out of 6 and I am VERY close to my mom so I have really missed her:(

Thanks Jody! Will you be there on Thursday? You leave Friday don't you?

Way to hang in there until the end of the workout. Cheryl and I debated whether we should meet this morning because of the air. That's the hard part about winter - you're either fighting a storm or an inversion!

How great to have your parents back!

Now you will get comped for working out, cool deal.

From Kelli on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 15:24:50

Way to go on the run, the parents coming home and the gym call!! I may just come to your class just becasue it is you. That is so many early mornings, you are gonna need mandatory afternoon naps every day!

BTW, Johannesburg South Africa is considered the most dangerous place in the world. Scott and I watched a show about it on the Discovery Channel or Geography channel or something like that. So, I am glad they are home!!! Have fun with them.

I'm happy for you that your parents are back home. When close family is far away, it hurts sometimes more than some can imagine! Great job on the run this morning, I don't think I was ever fast enough to chat with you until we stopped! I'm so excited to have the early morning option, even though I may not come as much as I'd want to it will be nice to have the option if I need to do something (other than work out)in the morning. Cant wait!

Michelle, I am planning on Thursday. It should be flat and I may be slow but I will be there!

From Michelle N. on Tue, Feb 03, 2009 at 19:53:25

Peggy-Thanks again for the workout. I complain about the workout but you know I really love it. You are awesome.

Paul-Hopefully teaching doesn't kill my running. I do know I won't be able to go to Lifetime early anymore.

Kelli-I will have to get up early every morning but Sunday. I love my sleep so it is going to be tough for a bit but I'm excited. Between Congo and SA, I am very grateful that my folks are home safe and sound.

Rachel-I actually ran behind you towards the end. You thought I was ahead but I was behind. I started to get pretty tired.

Jody-See ya Thursday and take care of that knee.
