Short-Term Running Goals:

I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Ran the Riverton 1/2 marathon route again today. There were LOTS of people considering the conditions. It was snowing the whole time and made for a hard run. Once we hit Redwood Rd. it got really slushy and my feet were soaked. My hamstring bugged me for a few minutes but feels fine now. I was pretty pooped from the snow and passed my car at mile 11 so I wussed out. Overall pace 8:48.

Michelle, thanks for the comment on my race, I'm feeling really good about it! I can't believe you ran in the snow, YUCK! But what an awesome pace for crappy conditions! Can't wait to see you Wednesday AM, I really want to try to get to your class...We'll see if my sleep time improves.

My feet were wet, too. That part of the run stunk!

It was great to see you and chat for a bit!

Hey, Monday is a holiday. Are you teaching on a holiday????

From Teena on Sun, Feb 15, 2009 at 21:24:48

Nice run Michelle!!

I don't remember running by Redwood Rd when I ran the route. I guess it really has been changed. Do you like the changes?

How's the puppy? What's his/her name? You might have told me and I might feel stupid when you respond and I realize that in fact you did tell me ... but oh well!

Kelli, yes I am teaching tomorrow. I hope you are there.

Teena, the route didn't have huge changes but it is now about 1/2 mile or so short. Hmmm...The puppies name is Lani and she is doing really well. We have our days but for the most part she is fun. How's your cute little sugar doing?

I have been sick all day today, so it is not looking good at this point. I will set my alarm and see how I feel when it goes off. I bet the class will not be too crowded with it being a holiday.

I'm hoping I can ease into it tomorrow but then I'll get slammed on Wednesday with step. Oh well, I'm feeling pretty prepared so I think I'll be okay. I hope you feel better:(
