Short-Term Running Goals:

I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Taught step class this morning. I upped the speed of the music so I am counting 4.5 miles. My right side SI, Piriformis, and IT are all bugging me. NICE! Oh, and I'm starting to get a sore throat. My son went to the doc yesterday and has strep so.... I think I'm going to bag the extra mileage today and go so my chiropractor and hope things start feeling better. And I'm going to load up on Airborne!

Later AM-Well I ended up feeling decent so I decided to go to the gym. I planned on 6 miles running but when I got there, they were doing quad step and I couldn't resist. It is more side to side movement, rather than all the jumping up plyometrics. I was late so I'll count 5 miles for the 50 minutes and then I ran 2 miles on the treadmill at 8:34 pace. My lower back was KILLING me when I got done so I decided to go roll on a 4 lb. sport ball. I did that for about 20 minutes and worked on my glute area, hamstrings and IT band and suprisingly, when I got up, NO PAIN-NONE!!! Need to remember that next time this flares up.

I HOPE you got paid!!! I saw a lot of paychecks yesterday!

Sorry about the pain, we are all falling apart again. It seems to go in cycles.

No paycheck yet BUT I did talk to him yesterday and he said he'd have it this morning. It was on his desk but not fully written out. I'll call him again today and go over and pick it up if I have to.

I posted that I wasn't going to do anymore today but I think I still might. My little dude really wants to go to the gym so I think we'll head over.

You can endorse the check over to me.

When you upped the speed of the music did it sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks?

Funny Paul:)

Burt, it's funny, when you speed it up it sounds funny for a minute but then if you turn it down, it sounds funny. It isn't a huge difference. I only upped it 2 beats per minute but that is enough to make you work hard.

Nice job getting rid of those aches and pains! Now you'll be ready to kick butt on Saturday at Riverton!! See you in the morning, oh and I hope you get paid too! I don't like to hear that the gym I've already pre-paid for another 2.5 yrs is having $ issues!!

From Michelle N. on Wed, Mar 25, 2009 at 14:18:11 from 75.162.237.156

I know Rachel. I hate to start any talk but it's frustrating when you get up at 4:45 every morning and get nothing. I really don't consider it MY workout because I have to do what suits the class. Hopefully it is just an oversight and things are okay.

Sorry to hear about the gym problems.

I know I'm really "THE LAME TREADMILL GUY." Julie's Jerry is, of course, "THE STIARMASTER GUY." I guess I'll meet your husband soon.

Not a biggy on the gym thing. My husband will be running on Saturday so I'll introduce him to you. He is all over at the gym but generally runs a few miles and lifts forever. I am finally covincing him that he needs more cardio to burn the fat so you can actually see his muscles.
