Short-Term Running Goals:

I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Such the gym rat. What new gym?

From Michelle N. on Wed, May 06, 2009 at 12:20:10 from 75.162.247.175

It is Thrive Fitness. Another small one but that works for me. It isn't new but they are just starting group fitness.

You will be a staple of Utah gyms. Soon no one will think about going to the gym without thinking of you.

I'm excited for your new classes!! I've always wanted to try travel step...I really need to come to your classes. We're definately missing you at group, get well soon!!

Where is Thrive at?

How are you feeling overall?

From Michelle N. on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 18:27:11 from 75.162.247.175

Thrive is in the same strip as Smiths in Herriman. Nice because it is only 10 minutes from my house.

Overall, I am feeling good but I am going to give it another week or so and then jump back into some running. How are you overall? It is hard to tell somedays. I start feeling a bit better but then I wonder if I need to be feeling better for a couple of weeks before I start up again. What to do.

From Teena on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 18:38:43 from 67.177.20.13

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I start to feel better and then I push it too hard too soon.

Some of my crosstraining has been too much ... and yet when I get going I have a hard time stopping. My pain seems to be coming on after I am done though ... not during ... so that has to be a good sign. :)

From Michelle N. on Thu, May 07, 2009 at 18:53:55 from 75.162.247.175

Mine too. I am noticing most of the pain when I have done lunges with my injured leg back. I guess the pushing off the toe isn't the greatest:) I am just hoping to get back at it soon enough to get strong for WBR. I was asked last night to run the Ragnar leg. I have to be feeling better for that or else...I hope you are doing better and continue to get there. Keep up the crosstraining and keep being smart. You have been so good to stop running for a bit.

Thrive had group classes a while ago, I thought. I know our Yoga teacher taught two classes there a week. But they have new owners now. I hope it goes well for you! Are they early morning as well???

Just take care of yourself so you can get back to runnin' sooner than later! I need someone to race up the hills that yells, "You WILL NOT pass me!!" to get me motivated to start getting up early and actually show up.

From Michelle N. on Fri, May 08, 2009 at 09:31:18 from 75.162.247.175

Kelli-There is a new owner at Thrive and I think they just recently started up classes again. Lisa has been teaching there and they wanted her to teach more classes so she called me and asked if I'd be willing to do a couple evenings. I subbed for her last night and I am doing Mon and Wed at 6:00 PM. I'm just having to learn to back off in these classes and not work as much as if I were only teaching a couple a week. It is lots of fun:)

I am hoping to start back some running next week and get back to the group the following week or maybe the week after.

I'm pretty sure you are leading the pack on all of the hills. You are running so great. Amazing! I am so excited to see how next Saturday goes for you. I wish I was doing it dangit! Oh well, I'll get the shirt still:)

From Kelli on Fri, May 08, 2009 at 17:12:07 from 71.219.87.11

The shirt is the most important part!!!

Do be careful with all of the classes, but you have fun teaching so I am very excited for you! I do not know much about Thrive at all---they did not have daycare, so that was about all I listened to of their schpeel when they opened!
