I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride.

Under 1:30 half

3:15 marathon

Met the BBK's to run up to Suncrest and back. We warmed up for 2.5 then regrouped and headed up. About 1 mile up, I had to go potty BAD so I stopped and waited for everyone to pass and headed for the bushes. I got back out on the road and got about 100 feet and realized I had pokeys in my sock and shorts. Yes, I sat in something wrong. So, I spent the next several minutes pulling 20-30 pokeys out of my short liner. I finally got back moving and made it about another 1/2 mile when I saw Jody heading back down so I just decided to head down with her. We ran another loop around where we warmed up. I had planned on doing another few miles but my inner thighs were chaffing really bad and I had to go to the bathroom AGAIN. So, I called it good at 7.2 and headed home. I decided on the way home to get the dog and go another 2.8 so I ran in and changed into some more comfy shorts and did. My pace today was SLOW. Something like 9:40ish. Oh well. Now, off to Lagoon:)

Have fun at Lagoon - that run was brutal and to keep the 9:40 pace is great! Glad you got the full 10 in, but you know now you've had too much exercise today, so don't overdo it at Lagoon! :)

It is painful when I get the pokeys in my socks. I can't imagine how it felt with them in your shorts. Great job on toughing it out.

I think it would be pretty hard to jog with pokey's in your shorts and socks.

You have to watch where you squat! Ok... That sounded bad! Good job on the run!

It was nice finally meeting you Shimelle, you are an awesome runner! I had no idea all of that was going on with you, kind of funny. We better go back to that hill again and face the DEMON!
