Ran Boston in April 2009 and had an absolute blast.
Half Marathon PR 1:35.
10k PR-46:20 (Obviously not a great short distance runner:)
Short-Term Running Goals: I've gotten the running bug back and hope I can continue to enjoy it. I think for now, my short-term goal is to NOT burn myself out. I am pro at doing that. I have a half and full marathon that I am planning on racing in a few months. I hope to be trained well enough to PR in both, but if not...I will enjoy the ride. Long-Term Running Goals: Under 1:30 half
3:15 marathon
Personal: Married with children. 17,16,14,11 and 7. 3 boys, 2 girls. I have the best husband in the world! |

Took too long of a nap yesterday and didn't sleep great so I decided to wait until later and head to the gym. Did the Boston simulated run that Julie gave me. It is tough! 3 mile warm up at 9:00 pace then did variable hills and speeds (overall average around 8:05 or so). Last 2.2 miles were on a decline at a 7:30 pace for 1.2 then I gradually slowed down and leveled out. I am beat!

AM-Taught step class. Much better class today and I think I'll count it as 4 miles. Going to the gym to do Ashli's step.
Later AM-Went to Ashli's step class and WOWWIE! Something was up with the tempo the first 15 minutes and we were haulin'. She normally has us stepping at 148 bpm (this is music beats not heart beats, which is really fast) but I think we were going at about 160. She corrected it and took us back down to 148. Because we were so high at first my heart rate climbed pretty quick and then stayed higher than normal the rest of the class. I went out and did back/biceps/abs after. Whew! |

Met the BBK's (and my hubby) at the JRP trail. Warmed up with some of the crew for 2.7 and then the rest of the group got there and warmed up an additional mile. The main workout consisted of 2 minutes at marathon pace/1 minute at 5k pace for about 2 miles. We had the option do do the same thing on the way back or do a tempo run. I opted for the tempo because I had to go potty BAD! Jared (my hubby) stopped at Lifetime Fitness to go shower at about 7.75 miles and I continued on for another 1 1/2. Overall pace wasn't too impressive but the quick miles were all below 8:00.
It's fun to have Jared come with and he did so good. He ran with Walter for a bit but Walter wasn't running fast today. But still, I'm impressed for a guy that hardly runs. I think he has real potential to be a good runner if he wanted to try. He really likes the group so maybe that'll be motivation for him.
Thanks Jody and Walter for the company during the tough part. I also got to run with Cheris and Michelle and Julie. Great company today!
PM-Played ward basketball for 45 minutes so I'm going to count 2 more threshold miles. |

| Taught class this morning. I decided to do a 50/50 class with half step and half total body weights. In my opinion, it isn't enough weights but I think the women liked it. I'll count 2 miles for the 30 minutes of step. |

| Met at Michelle M.'s house this morning at 7:00 and headed to JRP Trail and headed to 9800 S. and back out to 2700 W. and ended back at Michelle's. We did a progressive tempo run after warming up for 3 miles. Did some miles at Boston projected pace and some at our SG projected pace for this year. I felt decent but the hamstrings were a little achy pretty quick into the run. Dean, Michelle M., Michelle P., Cheris, Julie, Jody and me all ran together and Kris, Eric, Alan and Kimberly were shortly behind us. Overall pace was 8:35 with warm up and cool down. Middle miles were some in the 7:40 range and others around 8:00 or so. |
